A Cranbrook city staff report on a proposed organic waste collection program will be presented to Council in two weeks time, after some robust debate Monday night.
While agreeing it’s a good idea, Mayor Wayne Price, at last night’s council meeting, felt it’s not the right time, in light of a recent public polling that found residents didn’t want cuts to their services the city currently provides.
The mayor wondering, with Council looking to slash the city budget, just what might have to be cut…
Council voted 3-2 in favour of continuing the process of investigating a curbside organics project.
Mayor Price and Councillor Wes Graham voted against a report from staff.
Councillors Ron Popoff and Mike Peabody were away from last night’s meeting.
