Kimberley’s incoming council begin orientation week

This week, new Kimberley City Council members are attending their first week of learning, discussion and team building.

On Monday (Oct. 26), they were introduced to each City department and learnt about the many services, projects and responsibilities that keep the City moving.

Today (Oct. 27), it’s about good governance. The rest of the week will include a mock Council meeting, facility tours and deeper dives into how Council and local government work.

The new council includes Mayor-elect Matt Mosteller, and councillor-elects Sue Cairns, Woody Maguire, Grant Farquhar, Angela Symes, Travis Fooks and Craig Janzen.

The inaugural meeting takes place Nov. 2 at the Kimberley Conference Centre. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m.
