The Cranbrook Bucks return to home ice tonight (Oct. 23) to face the Spruce Grove Saints at Western Financial Place.
The Bucks are looking to build on last week’s 5-3 win over the Chilliwack Chiefs.
“We’re on a good little stretch here right now, which is nice. Really happy with how we’re progressing, and it’s good lessons for us to keep learning and growing and understanding how to play with leads,” said Roshen Jaswal, Head Coach, Cranbrook Bucks.
Head coach Roshen Jaswal spoke with Pattison Media ahead of this week’s games.
It is parents’ week, with some players’ parents expected to attend. Jaswal said they will be invited to practices and team meetings for a look at the daily life of a Buck.

The Bucks host Spruce Grove tonight after beating the Crusaders on the road Oct. 3.
In that game, Jaswal praised the team for maintaining the lead and building on it.
This season, Jaswal’s message has been clear about trusting the process and not focusing on the results. The team looks to prepare; Jaswal emphasized preparation and sticking to the team’s game plan for this weekend’s homestand.
For Jaswal, the most encouraging part of the team’s steady progress goes beyond the results.
“I just think the way the guys are bought into what we’re trying to do, and everything we’re trying to teach, and their ability to retain information and apply it,” says Jaswal.
“I think it’s always important to play good at home…we’re focused on the process right now and really honing in on the fact that if we’re playing well, the results will follow.”

On Saturday (Oct. 24), Cranbrook will look to avenge an early-season loss when the Salmon Arm Silverbacks visit.
Speaking about the game against Salmon Arm on Sept. 19, Jaswal praised his team’s effort in the third frame, highlighting their determination to battle back.
“I thought we did really well in the third period to kind of battle back in the game and ran into a little bit of penalty trouble, but really liked our resilience as a group,” he said.
“I’ve been really impressed with their work ethic, and their attention to detail.”
Both games are at home, and Jaswal encouraged fans who have not attended a Bucks game to come out.
Jaswal said the Bucks have played well recently, particularly at home, and he hopes the crowd will support the team during the weekend homestand.
“Really happy with the support we’ve got in the community so far, and I think that it’s only going to continue,” adds Jaswal.
