Kimberley RCMP’s Q1 figures reveal calls for service rose by nearly 25 per cent compared to Q4 figures for 2025–2026 fiscal year.
From April 1 to June 30, Kimberley RCMP received 506 calls for service – up from 409 in Q4 of the 2025-2026 fiscal year and a slight increase from Q1 figures from 2025.
Assisting other detachments and the public made up the most calls at 110.
A large increase in calls was found in traffic and vehicle incidents (94), followed by fraud, firearms, mischief and property (70) and alarms, animal and bylaw (51).

In early spring, Kimberley RCMP began a drug investigation into a group operating in Kimberley and Cranbrook. An application was made through the Province of BC, through Community Safety (C-STEP). This granted funding for the project. Over approximately two months, the investigation progressed.
On June 17, four CDSA search warrants were executed at locations in Kimberley. A loaded handgun, loaded shotgun, $20,000 in cash and quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized. A youth from the lower mainland and two adults from Kimberley are facing various firearm and drug charges.
On April 13, officers responded to a report of a break and enter and assault. A male reportedly broke into a residence and assaulted the homeowner. The suspect male then fled and was located and arrested by police. The parties involved were known to each other.
On May 23, Mounties received reports of a break and enter into several businesses in the downtown area at around 4 a.m. Members attended with the assistance of police dog services and a male youth was located and arrested. Restorative justice was sought with this matter.
The detachment stepped up roadblock and traffic enforcement increasing from five to nine impaired investigations this quarter.
This was evident with an increase to 250 vehicles stopped at road checks in Q1 compared to last quarter at 130 inspected vehicles.
