Cranbrook Bucks owner and president Nathan Lieuwen was voted the 2025 -26 Executive of the Year by his peers at the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) annual general meeting.
The Vancouver Canucks hosted the 2026 BCHL Annual General Meeting last week in the Captains Room at Rogers Arena.
This comes off the heels of The Bucks 2025/26 season which was one of the most historic seasons in BCHL history.
As the postseason started, the Bucks faced-off against the #1 ranked team in the league in the West Kelowna Warriors.
The Bucks shocked the BCHL and knocked off the number one team in 5 games, making it to the second round for only the second time in franchise history.
In round 2 , they faced the Salmon Arm Silverbacks with a game 7 thriller sending the Bucks to the Conference Finals for the first time ever.
In the Conference Finals the Bucks lost to the eventual 2026 champs the Brooks Bandits.
From being the lowest rated team in the playoffs, to making the conference finals proved to be an unforgettable season.
