Real estate sales in the Kootenays ‘up’ in April, when compared to March.
283 homes sold last month versus 227 the month prior, according to figures released last week by the Interior Association of Realtors – translated, that’s a nearly-eight per cent jump.
But while sales were up, new residential listings were down by about two-and-a-half per cent with just 552 homes on the market.
April’s average benchmark price for a single-family home in our region came in just over $618,000 – up 0.7 per cent when compared to April of 2025.
Surprisingly, townhouses dropped 7.4 per cent year-over-year with an average selling price last month of $493,600.
Condos didn’t fair much better at $320,800 – a 4.3 per cent decline from April 2025.
