UPDATE: Mitchell Creek wildfire east of Radium Hot Springs estimated at 259 hectares

A wildfire east of Radium Hot Springs continues to burn out of control since igniting over the weekend.
The BC Wildfire Service says the fire is in the Mitchell Creek area in Kootenay National Park and was first discovered on Sunday.
Officials with Kootenay National Park say growth of the blaze has slowed and is currently estimated at 259 hectares.
The fire is believed to have been caused by lightning.
Currently, no structures or infrastructure in the area is threatened by the blaze.
