UPDATE: Police locate Fernie woman missing since Friday

April 16, 2025 Update: Elk Valley Regional RCMP say the Fernie woman who had been missing since April 11 was found alive in the South Country area near Newgate and Meadow Creek Forest Service Road. A witness stayed at that location to ensure her safety. Officers then took her to hospital for a check-up and found she was not injured.

Her family has been updated, and RCMP say they appreciate the public’s assistance in this incident. All other identifying details have been removed for privacy reasons.
