Kimberley RCMP were called to Wasa Lake Tuesday for a reported drowning involving a small child.
The call came in around 1:00 p.m. An RCMP investigation revealed that a three year old had entered the water and was unresponsive before being rescued by her father and two bystanders.
The two bystanders provided life saving measures, which resulted in the child being resuscitated.
The three-year-old was taken to East Kootenay Regional Hospital, then a larger medical facility where they are currently listed in stable condition.
RCMP in Kimberley are praising the two bystanders who got involved, commending their actions which saved the life of this young child.
