Fernie outdoor amenities prepped for summer season

Fernie Parks and Facilities staff have been busy getting ready for the summer season.

Staff with the city have been working to get all outdoor amenities prepped and open for the summer months.

The city took to social media saying, tennis and pickle ball courts are ready, outdoor volleyball courts have been raked and lines on soccer fields have been painted.

Fernie Youth Soccer Association is seeing its earlier opening in the last five years and slow pitch is in full swing at Fernie’s ball fields.

Washrooms at Fernie’s Rotary park and the Station Square water fountain are operating and sun sails are up at the Aquatic Centre and Rotary Park.

Staff with the city say Fernie’s Splash Park will be open for the summer next month and the Prentice washrooms and water fountain should be open in the coming days.
