COBS Bread in Cranbrook is all about fresh, handcrafted bread and treats from quality, carefully sourced ingredients.

“If you come in and you see something on the shelf, it was made today, it was fresh and that’s pretty important to bakery items,” Bakery Owner and Operator Rod Duggan says.

Duggan adds they make sure their baked goods are put to use daily with their End of Day Giving program and support for local sports teams.

“We generally donate a lot of stuff, whether its our end of the day products going to charities or when various hockey tournaments come out because they are having fundraisers and they are doing beef on a bun or pulled pork,” Duggan says. “They generally approach us and say ‘Hey, would you be able to help us out?’ and invariably, we always say ‘Yes, we can!’”

Duggan says the End of Day Giving program makes them a real part of the community and provides bread to those who need it.

He adds their charitable efforts help reduce food waste while supporting residents in the community.

“We really push hard to have really good customer service that we want people to come in and whether you are buying a single scone or a whole, great big restaurant order, that you are just getting the full wonderful experience and proper customer service,” Duggan says.
