Golden moments for Kimberley/Cranbrook team at BC Special Olympics Winter Games

Athletes from Cranbrook and Kimberley cleaned house at the 2023 BC Special Olympics Winter Games in Kamloops over the weekend.

Local athletes won 18 medals.

This includes 12 gold medals combined from the Cross Country Skiing and Alpine Skiing teams.

Alpine skier Jessen Jensen won three gold medals, while Kendall Salanksi and cross country skiers Layne Benoit, Jessica Klassen, and Daryl Mayer each won two gold and one bronze, and alpine skier Erin Thom won one gold and two silver.
