A Radium councilor is bringing his experience with village council to the mayoral race.
Mike Gray served on village council for six years and has also been involved in the community as a business owner and a board member of the Chamber of Commerce.
He threw his hat in the mayoral race when current Mayor Clara Reinhardt made the decision to not run for re-election.
“I really believe there needs to be some continuity on council,” Gray says. “I was the person that stepped up and said that I would run for the role.”
Gray feels he has a lot of experience that would serve Radium well if he were elected to the role.
“I’ve been serving on council for six years now and I’ve really enjoyed the experience,” Gray says. “Its such a great way to work in your community and get things done. A lot of experience from being on council and having worked in the community for quite a while now.”
Gray feels Radium needs to take another look at their Official Community Plan moving forward, as the current document is a decade old and lacking a fresh direction for the Village.
Gray is one of two candidates running for the role of Radium’s Mayor in the October 15th election.
