The Kimberley Dynamiters opened family weekend with a 4-1 win over the Osoyoos Coyotes at the Kimberley Civic Centre on Saturday (Nov. 7). With players’ parents in attendance, the team kicked off its only home games for this month.
Defenceman Nathan Laforge opened the scoring for Kimberley with a short-handed goal at 11:20 of the first period, assisted by Conner Grainger.
Osoyoos tied the game 46 seconds later with a power-play goal by Isaac Tavender.

Murdoch extended the lead at 6:39 of the second period, assisted by Conroy and Avery Lynch.
Brayden Schwartz sealed the win with a power-play goal at 9:06 of the third period. Logan Findlay and Murdoch drew the assists.
Kimberley goaltender Adam Kisilevich stopped 22 of 23 shots, while Osoyoos netminder Kole Anderosov made 22 saves on 26 shots.

Dynamiters head coach Derek Stuart said the Coyotes’ speed caught his team off guard.
“I thought we weren’t prepared for their speed and quickness, and that’s on me. That was my fault,” said Derek Stuart, Head Coach, Kimberley Dynamiters.
“But they adjusted really well and we cranked it up and eventually wore them down to where their speed was an issue in the third.”

Kimberley took four penalties in the second period alone.
“Our penalty kill was great. Those five of the six penalties were penalties tonight,” added Stuart.
“I’ve watched them all, and five of the six were penalties. So, we’ve got to be a little more careful with our sticks, but our penalty kill was outstanding tonight.”
Stuart also praised Kisilevich’s performance in net.
“Adam’s so calm and collected, you know, obviously he’s not going to save every shot, but I thought he was a big factor in just making a lot of maybe a little bit more difficult saves look easy,” he noted.

The Dynamiters continue their homestand Sunday (Nov. 8), hosting the Princeton Posse in a rematch of the finals.
“They’ve got a lot of turnover. I think quite a bit more than we have, but they’re always a tough team to play,” said Stuart.
“They’re well-coached, and I’m sure they’ll be looking for a little bit of redemption from the players that were on their team last year.”
Puck drop is set for 2 p.m.
