The District of Sparwood’s new council were officially sworn in at Tuesday’s (Nov. 3) inaugural meeting.
Mayor Hadden Kelloway used his first formal address at the inaugural meeting to emphasize his commitment to ensuring the municipality “actively grows more resilient, affordable, and vibrant.”

“We are fully committed to seeing ongoing projects through to completion. Ensuring that time, effort and tax dollars already invested by our community yield the result you deserve.”
Kelloway said council is also committed to building collaborative relationships with local businesses, community groups and the Sparwood Chamber of Commerce.
He said residents strongly supported greater investment in recreation and leisure during the campaign.

Kelloway also pledged to be a “highly accessible” mayor who listens to the community.
