Kitchen fire quickly extinguished at Cranbrook restaurant

Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services responded to a restaurant on Baker Street early Wednesday morning (Oct. 7) after reports of smoke coming from the building.

Fire crews were called to the 1000 block of Baker Street at about 3:51 a.m. on Oct. 7, where they discovered a fire in the kitchen area.

Four on-duty firefighters responded from the station with two apparatus, while six additional members were called from home to assist.

The fire was quickly extinguished. An investigation determined the origin of the fire was not suspicious. No injuries were reported.
