A portion of 2nd Street South between Victoria Avenue South and 24th Avenue South will be closed temporarily from today (Sept. 21) until September 23.
Revolution Earthworks Ltd. will be working on behalf of the City of Cranbrook and the BC Housing Corporation to install a new water service for the Claydon Village Redevelopment at 2220 2nd Street South.
This work will require a complete shutdown of traffic along 2nd Street South between Victoria Avenue South and 24th Avenue South from 7 a.m. today (Sept. 21) until 5 p.m. on September 23.
There will be no access allowed through the work area as the road will be completely closed with detours in place.
The City says an effort will be made to allow local traffic and pedestrian traffic to access their current parking lots and residences during this work.
Water services will also be down temporarily in this area on September 22 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Once the water service is restored, nearby residents may notice some discolouration in the water. Simply run your cold water taps until the water runs clear.
