Residents invited to talk energy at upcoming conference in Castlegar

The Columbia Basin Trust is looking to shed more light on the future of power and energy at an upcoming spring symposium.

The Trust is hosting RE:Energize, a free-to-attend conference that will look at where energy comes from, how it reaches people, and efficient, reliable ways to use it.

Participants can expect expert speakers, interactive sessions and chances to meet others interested in the future of energy in the Basin, as well as the Renewable Energy Expo and the Basin Renewable Energy Awards for local achievements in generation.

“People in the Basin are increasingly interested in energy, energy generation and local energy solutions, and the theme RE:Energize reflects that growing interest,” said Trust CEO Johnny Strilaeff. 

“For more than 30 years, the Trust has hosted a symposium every few years as part of our commitment to engaging residents in meaningful dialogue. We look forward to bringing people together again next spring.”

There will also be an opportunity to tour the Arrow Lakes Generating Station, a hydropower facility owned by the Trust and Columbia Power Corporation.

The symposium is set to be held from May 6 to 8, 2027, at Selkirk College in Castlegar.
