Police are urging drivers to drive to conditions after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 earlier this week.
On Monday, at around 1 p.m., frontline officers responded to a collision involving four vehicles near Field, roughly three hours north of Cranbrook.
A pick-up truck hit a semi tractor-trailer driving in the slow lane.
The truck was then hit by another pick-up truck, which was subsequently struck by a third car.
RCMP say poor visibility was a factor in the incident due to a sudden increase in dense fog.
“We would like to remind drivers to adjust their driving for conditions,” said Sgt. Mitch Mercier with Golden-Field RCMP. “A lot of times, the weather in mountain terrain can change and drivers need to be aware of their surroundings and road conditions.”
