Interior Health shares mental health resources following shooting in Tumbler Ridge, B.C.
Interior Health (IH) says its “hearts and thoughts” are with the Tumbler Ridge community following Tuesday’s (Feb. 10) tragedy.
In a statement, IH says it acknowledges the significant emotional toll the incident may have on families, individuals and communities across B.C. Interior and beyond.
The health agency has released information about available mental health and crisis supports.
Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
The Interior Crisis Line Network can be reached at 1-888-353-2273, and the Suicide Crisis Helpline is available by calling or texting 988.
Additional supports include the KUU-US (Indigenous) Crisis Line at 1-800-588-8717 and the Métis Crisis Line at 1-833-638-4722.
Youth can access support through Kids Help Phone at 1-800-668-6868.
During regular business hours, individuals can also contact their local Mental Health and Substance Use Centre by calling 310-MHSU (6478).
