Sparwood council meets tonight

It’s regular Council meeting night tonight in the District of Sparwood.

Included on the agenda is a review of the 2023 Annual Municipal Report and request to allow for temporary gravel crushing at the Whiskey Jack Resort.

Ahead of that, however, a public hearing is set on a proposed development at 1500 Sparwood Heights Drive by New Dawn Developments.

If approved, it would see two separate subdivisions being built.

The first would feature 36 single family lots, 10 duplexes, and 29 four plexes.

Next to it would be 29 single family lots and 33 four plexes.

It’s a significant build at about 12-and-a-half hectares in size.

Also of interest to residents will be a draft document of a bylaw enforcement notice.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 in Council chambers at District Hall.
