Heat wave sets new records in Cranbrook

This week’s heat wave brought the mercury to record levels in Cranbrook for a few days.
Environment Canada says three new records for daily highs in Cranbrook were set from Monday, August 14 to Wednesday August 16.
On Monday, August 14, Cranbrook’s daily high was 36.2 celcius – beating the record of 35.9 degrees from the same day in 1994.
On Tuesday, August 15, Cranbrook’s daily high was 37 celcius – beating the previous record of 34.2 degrees from the same day in 2003.
On Wednesday, August 16, Cranbrook’s daily high was 35.6 celcius – beating the old record of 35 degrees from 2008.
