Containment work continues around Lladnar Creek, Mount Bingay wildfires in Elk Valley
More work is being done on containing two major wildfires in the Elk Valley.
Efforts continue to address the 1,246 hectare Lladnar Creek wildfire near Sparwood.
Fire crews mopped up and patrolled the south flank of a planned ignition area Monday, completing small hand ignitions to remove remaining pockets of fuel.
The BC Wildfire Service is expected to continue efforts to mop up that area Tuesday and further work to contain the blaze.

Meanwhile, the Mount Bingay wildfire northwest of Elkford is currently measured at 300 hectares in size.
Heavy equipment and firefighters are working on building guards.
Plans are currently being developed on how to contain the blaze.
