Lladnar Creek fire crews utilizing Sparwood Leisure Centre as home base
The District of Sparwood says programming at the Leisure Centre remains largely unchanged as BC Wildfire Service crews utilize the area as a home base while battling the Lladnar Creek Wildfire.
Day camps and fitness classes are moved to the pool side of the facility while fire crews use the arena side as their home base.
The District is thanking the many firefighters who have arrived in the community to battle the blaze.
Evacuation Alerts around Upper and Lower Matevic Road and Sparwood Heights remain active due to the 379 hectare fire.
