Cranbrook Public Works will be removing an old fire hydrant in front of Laurie Middle School today.
A portion of 2nd Street South will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic while the work is taking place.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and watch for flaggers and staff working in that area.
City staff expect to work to wrap up late this afternoon.
