The City of Kimberley says its fire department and BC Wildfire Service are aware of a new fire start in the Matthew Creek area.
The cause of the blaze and its size are currently unknown.

Meanwhile, the BC Wildfire Service is also reporting a blaze in the Red Canyon Creek area southwest of Fernie.
That fire’s size is also unknown, it’s believed to be human caused.
