Tree removal begins ahead of Fernie skatepark reconstruction
The City of Fernie says staff have begun tree removal at the site of the community’s new skatepark.
The trees are coming down to give way for a new entrance and landscaping as part of the City’s skatepark redevelopment project.
Construction is scheduled to start in May.

Please be advised that our contractor will be on site at the Fernie Skate Park to facilitate the removal of three trees on Thursday April 6, 2023.
These trees are being removed in preparation for a new entrance and landscaping as part of the new Skatepark Redevelopment Project. Construction of the project is anticipated to start in May 2023.
The trees are required to be removed prior to the migratory bird nesting window which occurs in mid – late April.
Please follow posted signage and stay clear of the affected area.
