RDEK and CBT accepting applications for 2023/2023 ReDi Grants program
The Regional District of East Kootenay and Columbia Basin Trust are accepting grant applications from eligible proponents for projects which are meant to benefit their communities.
Applications are open for Resident Directed Grants to support non-profits, schools, First Nations and local governments.
The RDEK’s Nikki Bradshaw says the program was previously called the Community Initiatives and Affected Areas program, but was renamed following a review by CBT.
“[The review] identified ongoing community benefits as well as some opportunities for program refinement,” Bradshaw says. “Although there’s a new name, it has the same purpose and supports projects that benefit the broad community and public good in the Basin through community based decision making and ensuring an opportunity for resident input.”
Over $1.2-million was allocated to 100 organizations last year through the program.
Bradshaw says this cycle will allocate around $1.3-million.
“It really is an exciting program for us, because it does truly benefit the communities,” she says. “We see a wide range of projects, from local arts program and youth mentorship to enhancing outdoor trail networks and maintaining buildings for community homes and seniors housing. So, we expect to see a good amount of applications this year.”
You have until February 15 to apply.
