Ground Floor Coworking Space has been located on 7th Avenue South in Cranbrook for the past four years, serving as a collaborative work space for businesses seeking to lower commercial costs.

Community Manager Cindy Oberle says by having a central space to work and co-mingle, it gives an easier retail solution for smaller businesses.

“As the businesses grow, we can offer more and more services. We have people who come in for a day, we have people that come in and have a monthly desk that they pay for,” Oberle says. “We have people that have private offices and then eventually our goal is for them is to get so big that they need their own commercial space.”

Oberle says the co-working space is not just home to entrepreneurs and business start-ups, but also hosts several non-profit groups.

She says their goal is to set-up all members putting their space to use for future success.

“We have over 25 businesses that use our services. so just to name a few, we have Business Basin Advisors, Community Futures East Kootenay,” Oberle says. “Having all of these available in one building, we are able to support and nurture the businesses in our area right from the ground up.”
